Suffolk is full of historic buildings, pretty streets and amazing parks but where are the most attractive places to live in the county?
We asked some local estate agents for their opinions on the most attractive places to live in Suffolk.
Here is what they said.
Alexander McNab, part of the residential sales team at Savills in Suffolk, said the North Suffolk coast was perfect for scenic walks.
“With charming arts and crafts architecture, beautiful beaches, dunes and heathland, Walberswick is a popular choice for many people,” he said.
“However a little further north – and slightly off the well-worn tourist trail – is South Cove and Covehithe.
"The pretty thatched church featured in the 2001 Judi Dench film Iris, the open water lagoons and reed beds of Bencare Broad are a haven for wildlife and there are some beautiful sea views as you make your way along farmland and the sandy beach.”
Katy Stephenson, associate director with the residential sales team at Savills in Suffolk, said her top choice for a pretty Suffolk village would be Lavenham.
“It’s such a special place – with a lovely blend of history and community,” she said.
“The narrow streets are lined with timber framed buildings and have an abundance of character, complemented by the large market square and iconic Medieval and Tudor halls.
"There’s also plenty to do and lots of places to stay, while Constable Country is just on your doorstep with picturesque woodland and countryside walks all nearby.”
