A seventh school in Suffolk has been confirmed to be affected by aerated concrete. 

Last month the Department for Education published a list of schools where reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) is present. 

The Department for Education updated the list of RAAC-affected schools and Newmarket Academy is now on the list. 

According to the updated list, pupils are in face-to-face education at all seven schools in Suffolk.

The total number of school confirmed to be affected by RAAC across the country is now 214. 

Previously named schools on the list included; Hadleigh High School, Farlingaye High School, Claydon High School, East Bergholt High School, and Thurston College. 

The issues affecting Thurston Community College have been fixed and is no longer an issue at the school.

Last week some of the affected schools shared the work to ensure students could return to the site.

Soon after students in years 9 and 10 at Stowupland High School had to study remotely after the discovery of RAAC led to the closure of a number of classrooms.
