A Grade II listed building which previously served as an accountanting premise may be turned into two new homes, if the council planning application is approved.
An application has been put into Mid Suffolk District Council for 12-14 Tavern Street in Stowmarket, for internal and external alterations and a change of use for the site.
The plans involve a change of use for the site to convert the semi-detached, two-storey building into two separate three-bedroom homes.
The alterations include works to the exterior and interior, including subdivisions and demolishing the conservatory, which is a more recent development behind the building.
Currently vacant, the premises used to house the offices of Orrin Accountancy.
Originally two houses of 17th century origin, the timber-frame is 17th century that was reworked in the late 18th century.
A consultation is currently underway on the plans until February 1.
A decision is expected by March 7.
