An 88-year-old Town fan who has seen the best and worst throughout the club's history is delighted at the prospect of seeing his team return to the top division.
Arthur Winchester has been going to Ipswich Town games for eight decades, seeing the club lift the league title under Sir Alf Ramsey and the FA Cup and the UEFA Cup under Sir Bobby Robson.
For the last 20 years, Arthur has been constantly telling his family: "Before I die, I'd love to see one last Premier League season."
Arthur's great nephew, Luke, who he goes to games with along with Luke's son Benjamin, said there was a fear that wouldn't dream wouldn't happen.
He said: "A couple of years ago he spent six months in hospital with Covid. Since he came out of hospital though, Town haven't stopped winning.
"Ipswich Town has been his life, he has seen almost everything in the club's professional history.
"We didn't think he would see another Premier League season at one point, due to his hospitalisation and the awful years of rubbish we had to endure for two decades at the turn of the century."
Town are within a point of the Premier League and promotion could be sealed at Portman Road in their game against Huddersfield Town.
Luke continued: "The promotion, if it happens, will mean so much to so many people but to our family and Arthur, it will be extra special."
Before Arthur was in hospital, he went to every home and away game following Town, and it is only due to his mobility now, that he is unable to do so anymore.
Arthur, Luke and Benjamin, from Stowmarket, are regulars at every home game at Portman Road, sitting in the Sir Bobby Robson Stand Upper.
