Developers have been submitting applications for huge housing schemes across Suffolk in recent years.
The proposals have been scrutinised by community leaders, with a number of projects comprising more than 100 homes given the green light in 2022.
Here is a selection of some of the biggest developments approved by planners this year.
Babergh
- The second phase of Sudbury's Chilton Woods development, comprising 242 homes, was approved in November
- Plans for more than 100 homes in Sproughton were set for approval in June
East Suffolk
- A total of 139 new homes for land off Gun Lane and High Road in Trimley St Martin were approved back in April
- Planners gave a 366-home scheme for land near the Dock Spur roundabout in Felixstowe the green light in March
- Community leaders were set to approve detailed plans for nearly 200 homes at the huge Brightwell Lakes development in July
Mid Suffolk
- Final approval was granted for 234 more homes of the Northfield View development in Stowmarket in May
- A scheme for 104 new properties off Norton Road in Thurston was approved in September
- Final planning approval for 300 homes in Bury Road in Woolpit was green lit in January
- A total of 138 homes south of Eye Airfield were set for approval in February
- Planners approved a project for 250 homes on land off Stowupland Road in Stowmarket in November
- Taylor Wimpey received the go-ahead for 269 homes in Barham in November
- Plans for up to 115 homes in Bramford were set for approval in November
West Suffolk
- Crest Nicholson's plans for 141 homes near the Kings Warren housing development in Red Lodge were approved in August
- Taylor Wimpey received approval for 145 homes on the edge of Haverhill in July
- A total of 113 homes from Persimmon were approved in north-west Haverhill in December
